WSAV – SAVANNAH, GA – If you plan to be out and about this weekend, expect to hear lots of jet engine noise around Savannah thanks to some military activity.
The noise will be part of a 30-day training exercise involving military at the combat readiness center. Officials said the goal is to help airmen get ready for deployment to a war zone. Military personnel from Vermont, Florida and South Carolina are among those taking part in the exercise.
“We’ll have almost a thousand folks coming through the combat readiness training center here and spending time in the local community. We’re pretty excited about it. We’ll have f-22’s as well as f-16, f15, playing from the Florida Air National Guard and the Marine Corps up at Beaufort will be flying in this area exercise and we’re excited,” said Commander Thomas Grabowski.
